Click on images to view piece Dynamic Portrait of Male Wig Form (large) spray paint, holograms, on masonite with polyester resin, 19w" x 40h", 2006 Notes: Here I have used holographic patterned sheets, a material which seems to almost have energy bursting from it, as an element in portraiture. The images are from photographs of wig forms and manikins, which are facsimiles of humans. I find this contrast between the "alive" holographic material and the "not-alive" wig form fascinating and use the idea often in my work. I have been making these portraits over the past few years in various colors and sizes.
