Here is a painting worked on and completed during a difficult time in my life. It presents my basic mood at the time, which was dire. There are a couple Recovery spots (a cognitive technique) written in the painting. I use the Recovery, Inc. cognitive method to help me minimize discomfort and to change insecure thoughts. There is an optimistic aspect to the painting with the “hat” that the central figure is wearing. It is from a visualization and is a symbol for connectedness with other people as a remedy for lowered feelings.
